Nelson Hall Theatre is proud to announce its premier self-produced new play festival. We are dedicated to young emerging playwrights in the state of Connecticut and therefore have
organized the “Connecticut College Playwrights Showcase!”
Submissions are open (until November 30, 2019) to all college students living in Connecticut and to those who have graduated college in CT in the past 5 years. Each playwright may submit two plays of 1 hour or less in length. Only the first 100 submissions will be accepted.
If selected your script will get one show night in the month of January as part of our showcase and one tech rehearsal that will be held one week before your premier.

-College student in CT, or recent (within 5 years) graduate of a CT collegeScript:
-Bio in email
-City of residence in email
-PG-13 languageOthers:
-No pyrotechnics
-Drama/Comedy preferred
-Stage teardown must be done in 2 hours or less
-Suitable for 55+ audience
-Meet organization standards for moral conduct, according to the mission of Nelson Hall/Elim Park
-Self-produced (email us with questions)Please research us before submitting.
-Less than 100 word play synopsis in email
-Tickets sales profit will be split 50/50 between Nelson Hall Theatre and producing playwright
-No sets may be screwed, nailed, or glued to our stage
-We accept QLab
-Plays must not have been professionally produced before (this is your World Premier but past academic productions are okay)
-2 submissions per playwright
-Send a blind script in PDF format
-If selected, you will receive 1 reserved seat for yourself at each show as well as 4 other reserved seats at your own performance
