Gulfshore Playhouse Eighth Annual New Works Festival

web site

WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT GULFSHORE HAS REACHED THEIR SCRIPT SUBMISSION LIMIT.

Gulfshore Playhouse announces a call for submissions  for their Eighth Annual New Works Festival to take place in September 14th through 20th, 2020. The New Works Festival will bring together four playwrights and a team of professional actors and directors for a week-long festival. The festival focuses on developing each selected play throughout the week and culminates in a staged reading for an audience.
Starting at 1 PM EST on Monday, November 4, Gulfshore Playhouse will accept the first 150 submissions from playwrights and agents.

Those interested should submit digital copies of plays that have not had a full production to submissions@gulfshoreplayhouse.org. Submissions sent prior to 1 PM EST on November 4 will not be considered.

At this time, Gulfshore Playhouse is not accepting musical submissions, asks that all submitted plays are full-length, and will only consider works that have not previously had a full production.

The New Works Festival finalists are chosen through a blind submission process. Submissions should be sent with two files: a cover page with name and contact information and the script with no playwright information. All submissions should be in PDF format. Scripts not sent in the requested format will not be considered until they are re-submitted in the correct format.

Semifinalists for the Eighth Annual New Works Festival will be announced in the summer of 2020. Semifinalists will be contacted regarding their availability and willingness to participate in the festival which will factor into the selection of the finalists. The winners will be announced shortly thereafter in the summer of 2020.

Each winner will receive a $500 honorarium as well as airfare and lodging for the duration of the festival.
