There are several variations on the play script format in the anglophone world, and so there is no one single format used by every writer in English. 

For instance, British playwrights use a format in which the character name is on the left-hand side of the dialog, rather than above the dialog.

In the US there are several authoritative organizations that provide samples of play scripts.
