MET ZOOM PLAY FESTIVAL

The plays must be written (or re-written) to work in the medium of Zoom. In other words, incorporating the online nature of the production is key. 

Extra credit for writing a play that feeds into a theme of "Club MET" (vacations, get-aways, beach longings, etc. and/or exploring the idea of Mesa Encore Theatre (MET), or community theatre in general, as a pathway to getting out of ones real life and into a fantasy/better world!).
The plays should be no longer than 20 minutes in running time but can be far shorter (think 10-12 pages). 

Because of the nature of how Zoom plays are presented, it would be difficult to use plays with more than 6 characters. 

Plays must be submitted to David Chorley at davidchorley@gmail.com no later than 10:00PM, Tuesday 9/1/20. 

Plays must be written with the confines of the pandemic in mind – it will be hard to choose a play that uses far-out props or settings that would be difficult to re-create in this environment. 

The extent of playwright involvement during the rehearsal process will be considered on an individual basis by the MET Artistic staff, the Director and the Playwright's preference.

Playwrights of all ages and levels of experience are encouraged to submit a play!

If you would like an extra challenge (a la the 24-hour theatre model) we can provide you with a cast of actors so you can create your play specific to them! We will get you the actor information no later than 8/28, which would give you only 4 days to write a Zoom play specifically for those actors. If this appeals to you please let David know at davidchorley@gmail.com asap and we can make these arrangements. This is, of course, optional.

*to involve as many people as possible, we will want separate writers and directors as opposed to having someone write and direct the same show.

** based on turn-out we may be able to do different plays on different nights, but the idea as of now is to organize a festival with the same shows performed live all three days. If we end up with more options, we may look to expand this.

New Works Virtual Festival is an online fundraiser for the Actors Fund presenting 20 new works performed by all-star casts.

NWVF's lineup of 20 plays in 7 days will consist of non-musical pieces; both full length and one-act plays, screenplays, and television pilots.

Guidelines for Playwrights

Scripts must be original works which have not been published and have not had an Equity or full professional premiere production. (Readings or informal workshop productions are okay.)

In general, we are looking for plays that do one or more of the following:
  • Engage the personal, local, regional and/or global implications of man-made climate change.
  • Put an ecological issue or environmental event/crisis at the center of the dramatic action or theme of the play.
  • Critique or satirize patterns of exploitation, consumption, or other ingrained values that are ecologically unsustainable.
  • Expose and illuminate issues of environmental justice.
  • Explore the relationship between sustainability, community, and cultural diversity.
  • Interpret community to include our ecological community; give voice or character to the land, or elements of the land; theatrically examine the reciprocal relationship between human, animal and plant communities; and/or the connection between people and place, human and non-human, culture and nature.
  • Grow out of the playwright’s personal relationship to the land and the ecology of a specific place.
  • Celebrate the joy of the ecological world in which humans participate.
  • Offer an imagined world view that illuminates our ecological condition or reflects on the ecological crisis from a unique cultural or philosophical perspective.
  • Are written specifically to be performed in an unorthodox venue such as a natural or environmental setting, and for which that setting is a not merely a backdrop, but an integral part of the intention of the play.

We are looking for full-length plays that are written primarily (though not necessarily exclusively) in English. Submitted plays should address the thematic guidelines as listed above. Deadline: August 31st, 2021.

Please note: we will NOT consider:
  • ten-minute plays
  • one-act plays (unless they are longer than 30 minutes in length)
  • musicals (though we love them, we cannot financially accommodate their production for this festival!)
  • We are only accepting electronic submissions in PDF format. Please do not submit paper manuscripts, as they will not be considered.
Evaluation Process

A Reading Committee composed of theatre professionals and Emory University students will read and evaluate each script in relation to the guidelines above, as well as theatricality, and overall quality. Each play will receive evaluation from a minimum of 2 readers. Highly-scored plays from the first round will be read again by the Reading Committee until a short list of 5 finalists are determined.

Those five plays will be read in a blind process by a panel of distinguished theatre artists from the USA and Canada and the artistic director of Theatre Emory, who will choose the winning plays from five final scripts. Our 2022 judges will be announced soon.

Livermore Shakespeare Festival commission seeks playwright of color

Up to $6,000 playwright commission (full length play) with Livermore Shakespeare Festival (LSF).

This commission is for a playwright of color to celebrate scientists of color while exploring a current science theme. The selected playwright will be tasked with writing an original play which includes a component about scientific research currently pursued by our local Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL). Many possibilities include using supercomputers to identify a COVID-19 vaccine and treatment candidates. We will partner the selected playwright with advisory support from scientists at the LLNL and/or Sandia National Laboratory.

Theatre Viscera seeks podcasts for reading series

Our Submission period for plays for the Podcast Readings opens Sunday June 21st, 2020 at 5:00pm PT and will close Friday September 25th, 2020 at 5:00pm PT.

We are only able to accept the first 100 submissions, upon which the submission period will close. If we reach our cap of 100 submissions before the stated close date of Friday September 25th, we will make an announcement on our website and social media that the contest will close the following day at 5:00pm PT.

As the situation with the Coronavirus and COVID-19 continues to develop, we are moving to virtual work for the time being in order to continue our commitment to telling queer stories while focusing on the health and safety of our community. We are therefore accepting submissions for the 2021 Podcast season with Theatre Viscera. We are looking for pieces that will read well in a podcast format, but we are not producing Radio Plays. This is a great opportunity to send us weird work that might be “less producible” because of strange conventions or unique storytelling.

At this time we are accepting only one submission per playwright.

Submissions may be full length plays, a collection of one acts totally no more than 100 minutes reading time, or a collection of 10 minute plays totally no more than 100 minutes reading time. Submissions must be between 60-100 minutes of reading time, or about 60-100 pages of formatted script.

For collections of one acts or 10 minute plays, we are accepting collaborations as long as the individual pieces have a through line of plot, theme, or theatrical device.

We are not accepting musicals at this time.

We have a preference for pieces with modest cast lists (8 characters or less.)

We have a preference for pieces that tell stories of trans and GNC characters, as well as stories at the intersections of oppression; disabled queer characters, BIPOC queer characters, etc.

We are looking for plays by queer artists, about queer characters, for queer actors.

The L.B. Williams Playwriting Contest for BIPOC Writers

In furthering the company’s mission to, in part, “foster diversity and parity,” on August 1, 2020 we announced a new play contest for playwrights of color (including Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, etc.) This contest is different from many out there in that we are seeking not so much new plays as potential new members of our company who wish to work with us continuously in the future to develop their new plays.

The contest is named to honor the memory of L.B. Williams, an actor in our company who passed away in 2017. He loved working on new plays, whether as an actor, or in his wise critiques, and regularly attended our Monday night readings to do so.

Our development process includes a reading of new plays at company meetings on Monday nights, followed by a developmental workshop with a director and cast, and finally, an Equity Showcase production of the play in our small theatre space on West 44th St in New York City upon approval of the Leadership team. The goal and focus are to allow the playwright to achieve the best possible version of their script.

For this particular contest, the following rules apply:

1. Plays should be suitable for or even specifically written to be performed over Zoom or equivalent digital technology. (We hope to produce the plays live in our performance space in 2021 should health conditions permit.)

2. Plays should run no longer than 10-minutes.

3. Plays may be on any theme and in any style, but should not rely on complicated production values to make them work.

4. No musicals, children’s shows, or adaptations accepted.

5. New work only that has not been produced (staged-readings okay).

6. Deadline: November 1, 2020. Plays should be sent via email as a PDF only to nctcsubmissions@gmail.com, with the writer’s last name and L.B. Contest in the subject line. (Ex: “Smith L.B. Contest”). Winners will be announced in January.

7. Winning plays selected for production will result in a royalty payment to the writer of $100. Writers maintain full copyright of their work.
8. Winning plays will follow our development process: a Monday night reading, followed by a workshop, followed by production. During the COVID-19 pandemic, that process will be online. By submitting your play, you agree to participate actively in that process.

The Breath Project 2020 Virtual Festival

To select, curate and archive work from multidisciplinary theater artists of color who are responding to our current moment in history, and to build relationships between artists of color and producers of live theater in their city, state and/or region.

FALL 2020 OBJECT MOVEMENT DIGITAL PUPPETRY LAB

OBJECT MOVEMENT is a residency program for developing new works by puppeteers and object theater artists. Object Movement supports the development new work and advances existing works-in-progress that address eternal human questions and the urgent challenges of our society today through puppetry and object theater, and produces an annual festival of performances. The Fall 2020 Digital Puppetry Lab will focus on the creative opportunities and challenges of making puppetry and object theater for a virtual audience with the tools of modern technology.

Eight participants will meet weekly on Zoom to share the questions they’re wrestling with and the discoveries they’ve made. Participants will take turns sharing works in progress and offering peer feedback, with moderation and support from the curators. Group meetings are on Tuesday evenings from 8:00pm to 9:30pm starting September 29, culminating in an online festival of “lab experiments” over four evenings, Thursday 11/19 through Sunday 11/22. The final meeting of the lab to reflect on the process will be on Tuesday, November 24.

Thanks to a grant from the Jim Henson Foundation, participants will each receive a performance fee of $100 for participation in the festival, as well as a share of the donations collected from the festival audience.

Artists may apply with a specific project in mind, or with topics and themes they want to explore. All work for the residency will be created for an online audience, and artists will perform a 5 to 10 minute piece developed during the residency at the festival.

FWO Libretto Workshop seeks submissions

Frontiers: FWO Libretto Workshop is an exciting exploration of operatic storytelling, and the eighth installment of the company’s innovative new works showcase. Led by Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning librettist and lyricist Mark Campbell, this two-night online event will be held in front of a live Zoom audience. While the first seven installments of Frontiers highlighted thrilling new unproduced works-in-progress, the company’s latest workshop strips away the musical elements and focusses entirely upon the text of new operas in-the-making. In addition to Mr. Campbell’s presence, FWO’s workshop will feature a distinguished panel of librettists, composers, directors, and artists, including Héctor Armienta, Nicole Brooks, Octavio Cardenas, Blythe Gaissert, Alison Moritz, Rachel J. Peters, Kelley Rourke, and Talise Trevigne.

In creating this program, Fort Worth Opera wanted to provide librettists with a platform for dramaturgical development and assure the industry and opera lovers everywhere that the storytellers within this incredible art form would not be neglected during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company continues its commitment to supporting the creation of new works, and Frontiers: FWO Libretto Workshop will provide librettists with an exclusive opportunity to hone their craft. Not only will they experience passages of their libretto performed by professional actors, but they will receive real-time feedback from some of the top creative minds in opera. Librettists will also be able to obtain a recording of the Zoom workshop to assist them further in their compositional process.

SUBMISSION INFO (SUBMISSIONS ACCEPTED AUGUST 19 - SEPTEMBER 14, 2020)

Librettists from the Americas (citizens or residents of North, Central, and South America, as well as associated territories) are eligible and invited to submit a libretto. All application materials must be submitted electronically through the Frontiers web portal. Six libretti will be selected and showcased. Works not selected will not be automatically reconsidered for future showcases.

Submissions will be accepted through Monday, September 14, 2020, at midnight. On Tuesday, September 29, six librettists will be chosen, and the winning selections will be publicly announced. Only completed libretti will be considered. Due to the online forum of this workshop, libretti must be in English, and submissions must include a synopsis. There is no fee for submissions. Fort Worth Opera retains the right to select fewer than six works for the showcase.

THE HENLEY ROSE PLAYWRIGHT COMPETITION FOR WOMEN 2020

The Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women was founded by Yellow Rose Productions, with permission of Beth Henley, to encourage and recognize the new works of female playwrights. The Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women aims to give voice to the stories of this generation and to bring into the spotlight important works that have been crafted.
The Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women seeks to honor both the writings of Pulitzer Prize winner Beth Henley and those of future winners of the Henley Rose Award.
INFORMATION

Submissions are welcome from July 1st until August 31st and will be read by a committee of writers, theatre artists, and producers.

The first 250 submissions to be received between July 1st until August 31st will be considered.

A small group of finalists will be announced in March, 2021. The First, Second, and Third Place winners will also be announced by the end of March, 2021, and will receive the Henley Rose Award. In addition, submission fees will go toward creating a cash prize for the winners of the Henley Rose Award. Information on the Henley Rose Staged Reading Series will be announced at a later date.

Please note, we are unable to provide feedback on scripts that are submitted.

Carlow Little Theatre Society One-Act Playwriting Competition

With theatre activities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Carlow Little Theatre Society (CLTS), will be running a new one-act playwriting competition this Autumn to encourage the writing of new play material.

Three finalist plays will be selected from the entries, which will each receive a rehearsed, performed reading by actors from CLTS. An overall winner will then be selected, with a monetary prize of €300 for 1st place, €200 for 2nd place, and €100 for third place kindly sponsored by local marketing and call centre company, Maven TM.

The competition is open to all writers over 18 years old, both members and non-members, local and international. The play submitted must be in English and be an original work of the entrant that has not yet been published, nor performed on stage previously, nor received any awards previously.

The script length / duration of the play should not exceed 20 minutes.

Scripts are to be sent electronically to Carlow Little Theatre Society, by emailing them to carlowlittletheatre@gmail.com with the subject header of ‘Playwriting Competition’, along with fully completed entry form attached to the email. Note that the entrant’s name should appear only on the entry form and not on the scripts.

Deadline: the deadline for entry is midnight of Friday, September 4th 2020.

No entry fee is required.

The 3 finalist plays selected for the performed readings will be announced on Monday September 31st 2020, with the entrants also contacted directly.

The 3 plays are planned to have their performed readings towards the end of October, though the date involved may be subject to change. Each play will be assigned a director and the performed readings will involve rehearsed readings of the plays in advance of the performance.

The overall outright winner of the competition is to be announced on Tuesday, November 17th 2020.

Playwrights are asked to read the guidelines below before submitting their play for consideration:
  • Each play should have a running time of up to 20 minutes. As a guide, use the format: 1 page equals approximately 1 minute of performance time.
  • Script formats are not strict and can take a variety of forms. However, it must be clearly formatted and the recommended format is 12pt, double-spaced, Times New Roman.
  • Plays should be sent as doc (Word) or PDF, via email only. We do not accept hard copy.
  • Each script should be numbered, with the title of the play at the top of each page.
  • The playwright’s name should not appear on the script.
  • All entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • The script should not have been published, performed previously or be scheduled for performance or have received any awards previously.
  • The play should not be an excerpt from a longer work.
  • We do not accept adaptations.
  • Closing date for entries is midnight, Friday September 4th 2020.
  • Entries are to be sent by email to carlowlittletheatre@gmail.com with the Subject Header of ‘Playwriting Competition’.
  • Each submission must be accompanied by the fully completed entry form. The entry form can be downloaded directly from HERE.

The Trans [Plays] of Remembrance Festival at Ohio University is now accepting submissions of 10 minute plays to be performed digitally as part of our Trans Awareness week. The Festival will take place over three nights during Ohio University's Trans Week of Awareness with performances November 16th, 17th and 20th. Playwrights/poets/performers will be notified which day(s) their play(s) will be performed.

Plays must be written by members of the transgender community—although queer allies are encouraged to contact the festival with questions regarding a play which features trans* characters—and should fit the theme of The Transgender Day of Remembrance. The festival will consists of rehearsed, digital performances directed by trans director, Jo Michael Rezes.

If a playwright/poet/artist would like to perform themselves, that is also acceptable. 2 submissions max per person (but the pieces must be contrasting in theme). International submissions are welcome but must be in English. Cast size: Maximum of 6 characters.

Submission deadline: September 5, 2020. Selected plays/pieces will be announced by October 1, 2020. There is no submission/participation fee.

AUDIBLE THEATER EMERGING PLAYWRIGHTS FUND


In 2017, Audible launched a theater initiative, intended to radically increase access to exceptional plays and performances. A core pillar of the initiative is the Emerging Playwrights Fund, a program that invests in and nurtures self-identifying emerging playwrights, some of our most inventive, delightful, and provocative storytellers. Through the Fund, Audible aims to connect extraordinary performers with remarkable original work, amplifying new voices and harnessing the power and potential of audio to reach millions of listeners.

The Fund specifically supports the creation of original dramatic work, written with audio in mind, but theatrical in spirit. If you are looking to submit an idea for an audio project that is not a play, please visit www.audible.com/pitch.

Audible is dedicated to commissioning, developing, and producing work that reflects the diversity of our members and our world. To accomplish this, Audible is committed to granting at least 50% of emerging playwright commissions to artists of color and women.

Submission Guidelines

To be considered as an applicant for a commission, please submit all of the following to AudibleTheater@audible.com:

1. One full-length script for an original or adapted play (in English language only) that represents your voice ("Script"). The Script can be in any genre and may include one-acts and solo pieces;

2. A short biography; and

3. A brief statement about why audio plays appeal to you.

The Ensemble Playwright Lab Residency

The Ensemble Playwright Lab (EPL) is a residency program in which the playwright engages with Letter of Marque's (LOM) ensemble to create, develop, or reimagine a piece of work; which will be presented to the public at the end of the residency.

There will be two residencies: Fall & Winter. Two playwrights, one for each residency, will be selected to work with our ensemble once a week, for a total of 21 hours of collaboration and discovery.

And the best part? The EPL is FREE to the playwrights!

Each residency is uniquely tailored to provide playwrights with the opportunity to collaborate closely with LOM’s artistic directors and professional multi-disciplinary ensemble.

This experimental process of creation and development is designed to welcome the playwright into the rehearsal room through active participation in devised and improvisational explorations.

Submission Guidelines

This experimental process of creation and development is designed to welcome the playwright into the rehearsal room through active participation in devised and improvisational explorations. The goals and outcomes of each residency are mutually determined by both LOM and the playwright.

Playwrights are chosen using an anonymous submission process. Each entrant is asked to create an alias so as to mask their identity. Entrants are also required to omit all mentions of names of previous collaborators and the titles of their previous work. The anonymized submissions are then read by a panel consisting of Lynde Rosario (Literary Manager of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts), Lea Marie Heller (Resident LOM Dramaturg), LOM Co-Artistic Directors Nolan Kennedy and Scarlet Maressa Rivera, and Guest Dramaturg, Myjoycia Cezar. Finalists are scheduled for interviews to determine the participants in this year’s Ensemble Playwright Lab.
This season, LOM will be exploring the theme of action.

This season, for the first time ever, LOM will proudly offer a $500 honorarium to each playwright chosen for a residency.

There will be two residencies: Fall (Oct.-Nov.) and Winter (Feb-March). Each residency will consist of 7 consecutive sessions to develop a work with the LOM ensemble. At the end of each residency, there will be 2 public Zoom showings and a facilitated post-showing talkback with the audience, playwright, and cast.

All meetings, rehearsals, and showings will take place on Zoom. Therefore, playwrights should have a strong interest in working on pieces within this format.

LOM is striving to amplify more BIPoC and LGBTQA+ voices. Playwrights from these communities are encouraged to apply.

NOTE: This is an annonymous submission process.
Do not mention your real name, the names of companies or artists you've worked with, or titles of plays you've written in your submission. Doing so will get you disqualified!

What we are looking for:
The purpose of the Ensemble Playwright Lab is to build a relationship between a playwright and the LOM ensemble, and to explore/allow for/create new ways of collaboration. This program is intended for artists who identify as playwrights and want to improve their craft as well as their work. Yes, there will be public presentations at the end of the residency. However, what gets presented will be based on the interest and goals of the playwright. Letter of Marque’s mission is to spread ensemble culture, through responsive, inclusive, and accessible theater, and to engage individuals in collective success and meaningful dialogue.

What Does It Cost the Playwright:
There is no monetary charge or fee to participate in the Ensemble Playwrights Lab. We ask for their time, dedication, talent, and energy!

ARTemis Arts Wisdom Anthology

Entrance Form
This ARTemis Arts project is highlighting the work of women writers over the age of 50. We aim to showcase work that needs to be read, produced and seen by the greater community, but may have little opportunity to be seen otherwise. Please share this information in your circles and help us identify, celebrate and shine a light on those women with wisdom and history to share. We will be publishing both an eBook and a printed volume.

Rules:
  1. Work must have been completed after 50th Birthday. 
  2. Work must be unpublished. 
  3. Work cannot have been previously produced in any manner. 
  4. Artists must be living. 
  5. Artists must complete entrance form
  6. If selected artists must make themselves available for ZOOM or in person interviews with reviewers and complete a biography form. 
  7. The deadline for consideration is September 1, 2020 
  8. All entries must be sent in PDF form to ARTemisAnthology@gmail.com 
  9. You may only enter each category one time. 

Selected Work:

non-linear is back again for Free Fringe Philly 2020! This year’s showcase featuring works-in-progress by Black lgbtq artists is going virtual. Send your drafts and your half-finished scripts. Send your choreopoems, TV pilots, dramatic monologues, poems, one acts, sketches, ten minute musicals, screenplays, performance art, and solo shows.

The Process:

Step One: Submit your wonderful work.

Step Two: Keep creating your piece! Work with Briyana to schedule a rehearsal with any actors you may need.

Step Three: See your work come to life at the showcase! Works-in-progress can be presented as on-book staged readings. This is an opportunity to hear your work aloud, receive feedback, and make new connections.

Abingdon Theatre Company Fall Festival of Short Plays

In this time for change, Abingdon Theatre Company is recommitting to creating opportunities for all voices to be heard. With this in mind, we are delighted to announce our Fall Festival of Short Plays! 

This will be a 2-week virtual festival shedding light on stories by people of color. 

We will be taking submissions later in the summer and our diverse panel of judges, theatre professionals who are BIPOC, will select 6 pieces created, and to be performed and directed by people of color.

-The winner of the festival will receive a stipend to be used to support further exploration of their piece and will be invited to become an Artist in Residence at Abingdon Theatre Company. Abingdon will then also commit to producing the winning piece as part of our Around the Table free reading series. Through the outreach, online readings and finally the staged reading of the winning piece, we hope to engage around 1500 people of color and create a more diverse environment at Abingdon.

We are currently accepting submissions for the 2021-22 Reva Shiner Comedy Award. The winner will be announced by June 2021.

  • “Full-length” plays should have a complete running time of between 1 hour 15 minutes (75 minutes) to 2 hours 15 minutes (135 minutes).
  • Plays submitted must be unpublished at the time of submission.

RTO Productions, in association with The Hive SJ, presents the following opportunity to revolutionize the way new plays are brought to mass audiences.

We are looking for unproduced plays to feature in our “Stage to Screen” series. These plays should have 6 or fewer actors, and no previous productions. The chosen play(s) will be produced as an elevated workshop production. Additionally, each production will be filmed and a trailer will be made available to the author as a means to assist in promoting the work. The play(s) chosen will be awarded a monetary prize of $1000.00.

Read through workshop:
This will consist of actors (who have read the play in advance) doing a timed read through of your play while you and the director confer either in person, or electronically. This will be done to AFTER the play has been chosen, and will assist us in all aspects of production.

All types of plays will be considered for production. If a musical is submitted, all music must be original, and you must have the rights for use free and clear. RTO Productions and The Hive SJ have a commitment to diversity and to honoring all traditions. As such, all scripts will be “blind read”, given to the readers with no indication of gender or ethnicity. Our one requirement is “Don’t bore us.”

Submit with no entry fee if submitted by December 31, 2020, 5:00 pm PST! If you submit your play after December 31st, there will be a submission fee of $25.00. 

Submission for consideration closes March 15th, 2021. 

Final production choice(s) will be announced on our website at http://stagetoscreen.org the first week of April 2021.

Spooky Action Theater New Works in Action

New Works in Action (NWIA) aims to host a play development experience that is playwright-centered. All plays are read and evaluated by at least one Spooky Action staff member and an experienced reader. At various stages in your writing process, we can give you access to professional directors and actors to help you experience your play. We are here to serve you and your vision. New Submission Criteria for Round 13- Short Play Virtual Reading Series

Send us your most impossible short play. Do you have a brilliant idea for a play but you think can never be put onstage? We are looking to present digitally streamed readings of plays that still fit in the magic realism genre but include a certain epic or unbelievable element. Therefore, we are calling Round 13 “THE IMPOSSIBLE PLAY CYCLE.” We want short plays, ranging from 8 to 40 minutes (ideally between 5 and 35 pages). Selected plays will be rehearsed and presented on YouTube via Zoom in October. Additionally, due to the overwhelming popularity of our last round of submissions, we are only asking local DC/Baltimore area playwrights.

Submissions open July 1st and close August 15th at 11:59pm.

Spooky Action’s programming fits within that ambiguous label of “magical realism”, and our definition expands to include stories from every race, culture, background, gender, orientation, and ability. We want plays that are mind-blowers. Reality twisters. We want plays that explore the primality of humanity, experience life in fresh ways, and reach beyond the conscious world. Styles and forms that break ordinary order and bend to a new paradigm of rules.
