Deadline: Wednesday, February 5, 2020 @ Midnight
The Players’ Theatre Committee is seeking a new play to conclude our second season of programming. This is a chance to have work heard aloud, amongst a supportive audience of theatre makers and lovers. Our final event is open to the public for submissions.
The performance is in the Dining Room at The Players, 16 Gramercy Park South, New York City.
We are looking for plays that challenge us to see the world; to view the full spectrum of humanity in all its forms.
Event date will be June 26, 2020.
This year we offer dramaturgical feedback to the playwrights of the top three plays as well as developmental support for the final chosen play. The playwright may choose to receive feedback or not depending on the play’s development needs. A Player’s Theatre Committee member will work hard to learn the language of the play and help the writer make the vision clearer to the future audience. This feedback can come in the form of:
• A single pass of written feedback of a scene or the full play, as requested
• Phone or video chat
• In-person conversation(s)
Rehearsal space, casting, and direction will be provided for a full staged reading of the script at The Players.
See BELOW for Submission Guidelines. (Please read the directions carefully; plays not in compliance will not be considered.)
**Reminder, our final event is open to both Players and non-members, so feel free to share the information.
