Following the appointment of an Associate Director we are now in a position to be able to accept script submissions again. Submission guidelines are below.

Before submitting your work for consideration please take a moment to consider the suitability of your play for the SJT.  You can find out more about the theatre on our website. 

Please also note that is it is rare for unsolicited scripts to be programmed by any theatre. By accepting script submissions we are looking to identify talented writers and nurture them as part of our commitment to new work.

There will be some specific projects for new and emerging writers over the next 18 months so please keep an eye on the website for more details.

Submission Guidelines

In order to avoid a backlog of unread scripts we will only receive scripts during certain periods of the year. The first submission window will be from Monday 5th of August 2013 until to Friday 30th of September.

Please send a synopsis, a writing CV and a short extract from your completed play (maximum 15 pages).

To prevent waste, we prefer to read plays on a Kindle so scripts should be e mailed as .pdf and formatted with this in mind. Your synopsis and CV should be attached as .doc or .docx files.

If you would like to send your submission pack as a hard copy please attach a SAE if you would like it to be returned. All submissions without a SAE will be recycled.
