Summer 2021 online classes at Primary Stages ESPA start next week! Here are just some of the classes in our lineup of opportunities in the writing department:

The First Draft: Section B - STARTS JUNE 22!

Instructor: Caridad Svich (Writer, OBIE Winner for Lifetime Achievement)

Tuesdays from 2:00pm – 5:00pm ET

This class will guide you through the development of your first draft, providing concrete deadlines, constructive feedback, and a collaborative environment to get your ideas on the page.


10-Minute Plays and One Acts - STARTS JUNE 22!

Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 9:30pm ET

Instructor: Adam Kraar (Writer, Wild Terrain at EST)

Learn how to distill a compelling story into the shortest possible dramatic form, think outside of the box of structure, and have some fun.


Rewriting Your Draft: Writer’s Room - STARTS JUNE 22!

Instructor: Stefanie Zadravec (Writer, The Electric Baby at Two River)

Tuesdays from 7:00pm – 10:00pm ET

As soon as you finish your last line of dialogue, the need for rewrites begins. This class will help you tackle the revision process and develop a stronger version of your play.


Write Your Own Romeo and Juliet - STARTS JUNE 24!

Instructor: Kate Moira Ryan (Writer (with Judy Gold), 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother)

Thursdays from 6:30pm – 9:30pm ET

Write a full-length play using William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as a blueprint! You can set your version of Romeo and Juliet in Nazi Germany, during the Black Plague, or even on Mars in this fun and interactive class.
