Quince Magazine seeks work for Issue Four

QUINCE magazine is currently accepting submissions for ISSUE FOUR on the theme of ARRIVALS in the following categories: poetry, fiction, visual arts, photography, film, life, writing, scripts. Please read the submissions guidelines for details.

A note on the theme
The movement away from winter and towards spring heralds new ARRIVALS. In the natural world (in the Northern Hemisphere, at least) this looks like greenery sprouting through the snow, flower buds winking awake, young animals discovering the world for the first time. ARRIVALS also suggests the idea of something - an action, a cycle? - finally completed. There are less abstract ways of interpreting this theme - the arrivals lounge, the arrival of a person in our lives, the arrival of a dream/wish come true. There are so many ways to envision this theme - be bold, specific and send your best!


Submissions Guidelines:

Poetry - submit up to five poems
Fiction - 3000 word upper limit
Visual Art/Photography - up to five images (photo essays welcome)
Film - 1 short film (1-20 minutes)
Life Writing - 3000 word upper limit
Scripts - 10 pages/minutes, extracts from a full-length work are acceptable but should work on their own.

Email submissions@quincemag.com with the name of the issue in all caps, followed by the catergory/ies of submissions eg. ARRIVALS - Poetry, Fiction


For VISUAL ARTS and PHOTOGRAPHY attach images as jpegs to email. Do not paste into Word documents.


For FILM submissions send either a youtube or vimeo link to your short film. Do not embed into the email.


Please include a short bio (under 50 words) in the body of the email.


Please do not submit work in PDF format. Do not use Google docs.


Please do adhere to the word/page count limits.


Only submit original, unpublished work.


Simultaneous submissions are welcome - please inform us promptly if your work is accepted elsewhere.


The theme is open to interpretation and experimental approaches are encouraged.


The magazine's decisions are final.


Unfortunately Quince Magazine is unable to pay contributors.


The deadline for submissions for Issue Four is 11.59pm, Monday 14th June 2021.
