Troy Foundry Theatre, a 501(c) 3 professional theatre company in Troy, NY is currently accepting submissions of new plays for the 2023 MAY session of the DARK DAY MONDAYS FREE READING SERIES.
The selected plays will be presented in staged reading format with a director and actors from the Troy Foundry Theatre company on May 15 (crows) or May 22 (lead in the water). The playwright will be invited to attend in-person or virtually. These specific topics have been selected due to the role they play as “hot button issues” in the city of Troy, NY.
We’re calling for submissions of plays that center around or have themes relating to:
1) crows (birds)
2) lead in water
Accepting full length or short plays.
Submissions for the MAY 2023 session will be accepted until 5pm on Thursday, April 27, 2023.

When submitting please use an email subject that follows this format:
2023 CROWS _FIRST NAME LAST NAME_ TITLE OF PLAY
Or
2023 LEAD _FIRST NAME LAST NAME_ TITLE OF PLAY
There is NO submission fee. You will only hear back from us if your play is selected for reading.
Your submission must include:
- An email with a subject line that identifies which theme your plays fits, your first and last name, and the title of your play
- Your play
- A short playwright’s bio and a production history of the piece
- Everything combined into ONE PDF or WORD doc format
If your submission does not meet the above requirements it will not be considered.
