The Chocolate Church Arts Center and The Playwrights’ Collaborative are pleased to announce:
A Celebration of Short Plays, March 16 & 17, 2024. Live and in-person in our 80 seat Annex.
Located in historic Bath, ME, The Chocolate Church Arts Center (CCAC) has served mid-coast communities since1977. CCAC is a cultural, non=profit, performing and visual arts center proud to offer a rich program of live music, gallery exhibitions, workshops, and live theater.
The Playwrights Collaborative (TPC) is a group of regional theater-makers whose artists have more than 800 theatrical credits collectively. Their Actors have performed from Bangor to Broadway and their award-winningPlaywrights have been produced at more than 250 theaters worldwide.
On March 16 & 17, 2024, we will present A Celebration of Shorts in CCAC’s 80 seat Annex; a program of 8 short plays spanning the range of human emotion and experience, from outlandish comedies to compelling dramas.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
State of Maine Playwrights Only Short plays, 5-15 minutes long. No restrictions on content
PDF’s ONLY. Include contact information. No fee to submit.
The Submission window opens on May 1, 2023 and closes on June 30, 2023, or until 100 plays have been received, whichever occurs first.

Facilitated by Jack Rushton, The Playwrights’ Collaborative and its Selection Committee will engage in multiple rounds of reading, choosing several plays which will be included in TPC’s program at The Chocolate Church. If your work is selected, you will be notified by December 1, 2023. TPC will cast and produce your play.
All proceeds will benefit CCAC in support of their mission.
