Are you a Muslim woman with a story to tell? We believe everyone has a story in them and we want to hear yours for a new project at the Bush Theatre.
Hijabi Monologues London will culminate in a theatrical production at the Bush Theatre focusing on the real-life experiences of both local and international Muslim women, weaving stories from our doorstep with the experiences of Muslim women in other parts of the world.
Hijabi Monologues London is part of an international theatre project which encourages and provides a safe space for Muslim women to creatively communicate their diverse experiences in their own words – unfiltered and uncensored.
You don’t need to be a professional writer to take part. We welcome submissions from any Muslim woman.
All submissions will be read and considered by a panel of theatre professionals from the Bush Theatre, Hijabi Monologues, the British Council and Amal – A Said Foundation Project.
The winning monologues will be performed at the Bush Theatre in the week of 25 Sep 2017 as part of a theatrical event that will also feature monologues from the Hijabi Monologues story bank written by Creative Director and Head Writer Sahar Ullah and by women from across Europe and the world.
The deadline for submissions is midday on 17 July 2017.
Online submission form.
We never post opportunities that require a submission fee. LEARN MORE.
