We are looking for short plays (no more than15 minutes) to include in the Playing With Science Short Play Experiment– a two hour mash-up of short science-themed plays. These will be performed by high school students at the Arkansas Science Festival, so please submit age-appropriate material.
We will be selecting 10 to 12 of the best plays we receive to perform throughout the Science Expo Day of the festival to be held at Arkansas State University on October 11, 2014. These plays will be considered for possible publication in an anthology by YouthPLAYS, publisher of plays for young actors and audiences. Awards will be given for Best Script as selected by our panel of judges, and Audience Favorite based upon votes from the audience.
What kind of plays are we looking for?
What kind of plays are we looking for?
Good plays about science. Maybe your play is about how Edison invented the light bulb, or about ionic bonding at a nightclub, or maybe it’s about a chameleon’s existential debate over whether or not his regrown tail makes him a different lizard... as long as it is science, we want to read it. Funny plays, serious plays, anything goes.
