Thank you for submitting to Village Playwrights' Annual Pride Festival! This year, we are thrilled to announce that due to the support of the A.R.T. NY/NYSCA Creative Opportunity Fund, Village Playwrights has advanced the festival's format from a 10-minute play festival to a festival of one-acts. We will be selecting 4 plays for the two-night festival, with each play receiving two produced performances with an audience. Each artist involved will receive a modest honorarium for their contribution to the festival, in addition to rehearsal space and limited administrative support from the Village Playwrights team.
The festival will be held in early June, in honor of Pride month. Plays are encouraged to speak to the Pride theme in whatever way the playwright feels appropriate. Adherence to theme will have bearing in the selection of the plays, but we are open to your wildest interpretations!
