Website
Thank you for your interest in submitting your play to us at Kervigo! We have received an overwhelming amount of submissions and are therefore temporarily closing our open submissions.
However, in alignment with our constant evaluation we have found that Global Majority Writers (Writers who identify as Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color) are still vastly underrepresented in our database of writers. Therefore, we are leaving this submission process open for writers who identify as such until we have a majority of Global Majority Writers represented in our submissions.
If you do not identify as a Global Majority Writer, please do not submit your written work with us at this time and continue to check this page for updates on when we will be opening up submissions again.
What are we looking for?
-New or reimagined work (play or musical)
-Hasn’t had a full production in New York
-Would benefit from development (whether it’s a reading, workshop, production, or anywhere in between)
-Written by a person of the Global Majority
-Centers at least one of the following:
Women, Non-Binary, and/or Gender Nonconforming Characters
LGBTQIA+ Characters
Characters With Varying Access Needs
Global Majority Characters
To submit, please fill out this Google form. In it you will be asked for:
-One PDF packet that includes, in this order: 1) brief synopsis with the piece’s development and/or production history, if any, 2) character breakdown, 3) brief statement answering the question, “Why Now?” and 4) current draft of the script. For musical submissions, please include the libretto with lyrics, and at least two song demos. Please remove any identifiers such as your names, pronouns, location, etc. in all parts of your packet, and name your packet after the title of your piece (ex. if your play is called 1234, name your packet 1234).
We never post opportunities that require a submission fee. LEARN MORE.
