a new themed series for artists at Park Avenue United Methodist Church

On Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 7PM in Clarke Hall PAUMC launches a new themed series for artists of all types. Artists will be asked to submit original work (visual or performance) that relates to the theme “Cracks in the Wall.” Chosen work will be presented in Clarke Hall to the public.

JUNE 5: Selections made and finalists notified

JUNE 10: Finalists must confirm their participation in the presentation

FAQ

Does the work need to be religious or pertaining to spirituality? No, though the work does need to be in good taste for a religious setting.

Will preference be given to PAUMC members? No. Every single submission will be evaluated with equal regard.

Does the work need to be new? Yes. We are asking for work written with the theme “Cracks in the Wall” in mind.

What do I need to submit? You must submit whatever you think best represents your work, whether that is a mp3, your script or poem, a thorough proposal, or a video. You must also submit your application form.

What kind of art will be accepted and are there any limitations? Any kind as long as it’s original and in good taste for a religious setting: Visual, theatre, musical, film, poetry, dance, spoken word poetry, short stories. If the work is presented live it cannot exceed 10 minutes. The work will be presented in a hall so please take that into consideration.

Do the artists have to pay for a ticket? No. The artists get to attend for free.

Do the artists have to pay for anything? There are no fees associated with participation in the project.

How old must I be to submit? We accept submissions from artists of all ages.

How will you choose who presents their work? Each entry will be examined by a panel of 3 judges and graded on a shared scale. The artists who submitted the entries that rank the highest will be asked to present their work.
