Scripts should fit into the theme of “Hope and Happiness” and should be no more than 15 minutes in length.
The play reading committee will be taking into account our audience demographic that is both midwestern and rural. They don’t like vulgar language and are generally conservative. Playwrights can submit up to 3 plays.
Imagine Performing Arts is looking for 6 great short plays filled with hope and happiness. The night of short plays to be presented February 13 - 22, 2026.
“This will be our third biennial short play festival. Since they will run back to back, they should have minimal set requirements” stated Cindy Perez, president of IPA. Only the first 100 scripts submitted before July 1, 2025 will be considered.
The theme for the shows is “Hope and Happiness”. “We are looking forward to the collaboration between the playwrights, directors, casts and crew” said Carla Beard of IPA, “With the number of plays produced, this is a great opportunity for directors and actors to explore something new.”
