The Geneva Theatre Guild is now accepting submissions of original one-act play scripts with a running time of 30 minutes or less for the annual Playwrights Play Readings event. Submissions will be accepted from January 1, 2025 through February 7, 2025 or until 150 plays have been received.
This year, the Guild plans to present the readings live and in-person at local venues, scheduled for April 25, 26, &27, 2025. All selected playwrights will be invited to attend and participate in a talk-back session after each play.
Every play that meets our guidelines will be given a blind review by our play selection committee which will choose the plays to be presented this season. Following this procedure, playwrights of those plays chosen for the 2025 season will be notified. This will occur in mid-March.
· Include a brief synopsis of the plot, setting, and a list of characters before the first page of dialogue.
· All pages must be numbered.
· Human-generated only, no AI.
· Limit - One play per author.
· Plays should be unpublished (at the time of submission) and not previously submitted to the Geneva Theatre Guild's Playwrights Play Readings.
PLEASE NOTE: The number of submissions accepted will be cut off after the first 150 have been received.
Auditions for Playwrights Play Readings are scheduled for March 24 & 25, 2025. Further information about auditions will be released at a later date.
