If you are a queer woman/sapphic playwright and would like to submit a play, please write an 8-10 minute play (must not exceed 10 minutes) inspired by the title of a classic sapphic pop song (think "Good Luck, Babe" "Honey," "Lunch," "Slumber Party," "Where Does the Good Go," "Her Body is Bible," "Lipstick Lover," "Fast Car," etc.) The possibilities are endless. The play should not have more than 4 actors (can have more than 4 characters but must only be played by max 4 actors).
The audience will guess which play is inspired by which classic sapphic pop songs which will all be listed in the playbill.
*Please note, the play should not be a direct retelling of the song but instead inspired by the title or lyrics of the song. The play does not need to contain exclusively sapphic characters or be a sapphic story. The point is to center sapphic playwrights and directors. Each playwright may submit one play per event.
The plays will be chosen by a committee of queer judges. All plays will be read blind. Information in this survey is collected to help us understand who we are reaching. You will be notified by the first week of July if your play was chosen.
