The first annual Lower East Side Play Festival is now seeking submissions

There are only two rules:

• The play must be set on the Lower East Side.
• The script must be 7-12 pages when in standard play format. Not every play is best served by rigidly conforming to either the new (https://tinyurl.com/new1) or classic (https://tinyurl.com/dgaclassic) Dramatists Guild format and you are free to submit your play formatted how you see fit, but please check the length. 

Submitted plays do NOT have to be:

• Jewish plays. The LES Play Festival is generously hosted by a synagogue and the LES itself has a rich Jewish history, so plays about the Jewish Lower East Side, both contemporary and historic, are of course welcome, but it is not a requirement.
• In English. The Lower East Side is a multilingual community. Plays do not have to be exclusively in English. 

Submissions will close at the end of the day Friday April 1st and play selections will be announced on or before Friday April 15th.

There is no submission fee or participation fee.
