Distilled Theatre Company is excited to get started on our sixth season of dtc radio!  dtc radio curates and produces new story-based radio plays that air for free on iTunes and are available through any podcast app.  The dtc radio team will work with you on script development and when a final draft is complete, the team will find a director, actors, a sound designer, and produce the script. We are looking for several new plays for Season six, all around 20min in length.

SEASON 6 PROMPT:
“It is by no means an irrational fancy that, in a future existence, we shall look upon what we think our present existence, as a dream.” - Edgar Allen Poe

Imagine a world where gas is $6.00 a gallon, Shrek 6 is playing in the theaters, and the color of the year is "millennial ochre." That world is not too far away, in fact, it could happen as soon as 2023. This season we are looking for plays inspired by and set five years in the future. Look to any aspect of life in the future, global or hyper-local, mundane or epic.

HOW IT WORKS:
Our selection process works in two rounds. This form is our first round, where you pitch your best idea for a new, original radio play that fits our prompt. Then, our readers pick their favorite pitches and those playwrights will be notified that they have been selected for round 2 of our process. At that time a writing sample from the proposed play will be collected. Our readers go through each submitted sample and then select our season based on the strength of those sample pages.

Feel free to email distilledtheatre@gmail.com with any questions!

*dtc radio is currently located in New York City and Fort Lauderdale. We only request applicants from near these areas so the playwright can be involved in the process.
