We are seeking submissions of short plays for our monthly reading series: Plays, Pints & Party! Every month we will host a night of selected short plays, all based around a specific theme, in a funky and fun loft setting. We supply the venue, you supply the plays.
OCTOBER’S THEME: FRIGHT NIGHT
Whether dealing with the darkness of the human psyche or things that go bump in the night, send us your creepiest, scariest, and all around spookiest plays!
SEEKING SUBMISSIONS THAT…
— Are between 10-20 minutes in length
— Are related in some way to the theme
— Require a cast of no more than six actors (or could be easily double-cast)
— Allow for creative staging/props
GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSIONS…
— Email subject line should be “P&P Submission – ‘Prompt Title’ – ’Title of Your Play'”
— Submit as a PDF file that includes a title page with name(s) and contact information of playwright(s)
— Include which prompt you are submitting for, a three-line synopsis of submission and a short playwright bio
— There is no fee for submissions
— Preference will be given to NYC-based playwrights, but we encourage all to submit
— Limit of two submissions per playwright per month
IF SELECTED…
— Your play will be produced as part of one of FTP’s monthly reading series: Plays, Pints (& Party!)
— You and a friend will receive free admission (which includes 1 free drink) to the event
— FTP reserves the right to select cast and creative for your piece, but suggestions and recommendations are always welcome
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Tuesday, September 26th @ 11:59pm.
You will be notified of your play’s selection by Wednesday, October 4th. Performance will be the evening of Wednesday, October 25th. Submit all material to submissions@fundamentaltheaterproject.com
