Project Applications are accepted on a rolling basis from September 1st 2017 – April 1st 2018. Successful submission of a project does not guarantee a slot in the 2017 – 2018 season’s New Works Initiative.

Plays accepted for an Invited Reading in the 2017 – 2018 season agree to be considered for a Workshop Production in July of 2018. Only full-length stage plays that have not yet been produced on a full scale will be considered, with a few exceptions being made for full length screenplays (preference will be given to theatre pieces.) Projects with an outside director will be considered.

Applications must be fully completed in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered to participate in the New Works Initiative. Due to the high volume of play submissions we are unable to provide individual feedback to projects not selected to participate in the Terry Schreiber New Works Initiative.

Plays selected to participate will be notified 30 days before their scheduled Invited Reading, and will be given three days of rehearsal space at the T. Schreiber Studios in Chelsea.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

 Please fill out and complete the Application Form.

 Please attach a treatment of your piece. It should include a brief description of the story, theme, and major conflict of the script. It should also include a character breakdown, as well as a scene breakdown. Your treatment should not exceed three pages and should be submitted as a .pdf document.

 Please attach a brief bio (no more than 100 words) and resume of the playwright (and director if applicable) as a .pdf document.

 Please attach your play in the form of a .pdf document. Microsoft Word, Celtx, or Final Draft files will not be accepted.
