Heartland Plays, Inc. publishes online a wide variety of plays and drama products including, but not limited to, full-length comedies and dramas, one-acts, short play collections, and musicals. We strive to find plays that have the quality and diversity to meet the needs and interests of most theatres and producing organizations; Professional, Community, Summer Stock, College, High School, and Theatre for Children and Youth.

Response time to your submission is normally 3-6 months. You will be notified by e-mail when we have received your submission. You may submit to other publishers simultaneously. However, please notify us immediately should another publisher offer a contract for the Work. Please do not follow-up on your submission except to notify us of such contract. Once we have made a determination regarding our interest in publishing or declining to publish your Work, we will contact you again via e-mail.
At this time, Heartland Plays, Inc. accepts unsolicited electronic submissions only in a Microsoft Word (.doc), Adobe PDF (.pdf), or a Rich Text Format (.rtf) file.

We do not accept screenplays or works-in progress. Heartland Plays, Inc. selects plays and other drama products for publication from many submissions and is under no obligation to publish or consider your submission for publication nor will it publish or license your Work without a signed contract.
