THE PRIZE:
The Prize is a groundbreaking initiative that supports a playwright living with HIV.
Selected from an open application process that requires a statement of intent and a full-length play for review, The Prize's recipient is given $10,000 and partnered with a dramaturg for one year to help skillfully develop a new full-length play. (At this time, musicals are not accepted.)
The process culminates with the recipient working with a professional director and actors to stage a public presentation of their work. Believing in its purpose, the inaugural year of The Prize was supported by Billy Porter.
