We at UP Theater Company believe that World Premieres are overrated. There. We said it. We know that all new plays that receive production runs of three weeks or less are just about ready to open by the time they close. That’s why we are putting out a call for new plays that have had a single production of three weeks or fewer.
We will consider your script for an upcoming reading series and potential full production (ironically, of three weeks).
You can send your Second Chance Plays to info@uptheater.org, with “Second Chance” in the subject line, and include in your message
(1) where the play was originally produced,
(2) the length of the run, and
(3) the creative team. We also need you to confirm that you retain all rights to the play and that the original producing company has no claim, monetarily or otherwise, to the script.
