The 2nd Stage at Burlington County Footlighters in Cinnaminson NJ is producing Curtain Rising: Staged Readings of New Works as part of our 2024 season. This thought-provoking event will showcase short one-act plays which explore the framework of HOME Is Where Your [ ] Is.
We are currently accepting script submissions and will select plays for minimally readings which will be performed on Friday March 1 and Saturday March 2, 2024. The 2nd Stage is our Black Box space which seats about 25 people. There is no fee to submit. Playwrights agree to have their work presented with no compensation. Playwrights must be present at one of the two performances of the program to see his/her/their work performed and be present for audience feedback post-performance. We are focused on plays which have not been formally produced.
Deadline for submission is January 15, 2024. The plays will be selected by February 5, 2024.
In order to be considered, a play must: Fit within the theme: HOME Is Where Your [ ] Is, have no more than five characters, be performed in 10-15 minutes, and have minimal staging/prop requirements.
After completing the Playwright Submission Form, please email the full script to Susan Paschkes at spaschkes@bcfootlighters.com. Submissions without scripts will not be reviewed.
