Now accepting Submissions for a new monologue collection published by Smith & Kraus, and edited by Debbie Lamedman.

No fee. Open to all playwrights.
The working title for this collection is WE/US: 100 Monologues for Gender Minority Actors.

**Specifically looking for pieces written for nonbinary and trans folx. This does not necessarily include gay and lesbian characters. Looking for pieces written for someone who cannot easily check a box regarding their gender identity. This anthology is about gender identity, not sexual orientation.
Monologues must be for gender minority characters including but not limited to nonbinary and transgender characters … basically any characters not in the cisgender majority.

• Monologues can be either stand-alone pieces or from a play.
• Monologues do not need to have been previously produced.
• Monologues should be 1-5 minutes long.
• Monologues should be active pieces rather than storytelling pieces.
• With your submission, please include the following:

a descriptive blurb containing a brief summary of the play or the circumstances if it’s a stand-alone piece

the name/age of the character

to whom the character is speaking

the dramatic context of the scene.

YOU MAY SUBMIT UP TO 2 MONOLOGUES.

IF YOU SUBMIT MORE THAN TWO MONOLOGUES THEY WILL NOT BE READ!
