THE PGE 3RD ANNUAL FACES OF AMERICA MONOLOGUE FESTIVAL

web site

Deadline: September 10, 2021

In November, in honor of election day, we will host the third Faces of America Monologue Festival.
(Date/Location to be announced.)

The Faces of America Monologue Festival was created in response to the inequality of opportunities available to marginalized communities. Our aim is to collect unique, captivating and beautiful stories and share them so that we can all learn, grow and celebrate each other. Because this is about sharing, we use this festival as a way to raise funds for important causes such as ACLU and Black Lives Matter. This years cause will be announced at a later date.

Selected monologues will be performed at our third festival using actors and directors from The PGE Casting Pool as well as featuring in our PGE Faces of America Monologue Festival Anthology #3. Writers will receive a small stipend, receive a copy of the Anthology, admission to the festival and most importantly bragging rights.

Our selection committee of artists read the submitted monologues blind with the goal of finding those that best reflect the broad spectrum of what it is to live in America. Last year we received over 200 submissions.

To submit your monologues there are just a few simple rules:

1. Keep your monologue to less than two minutes. If we think your monologue reads longer it will not be considered for the festival.
2. Your monologue should represent America's incredible diversity. (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, AAPI are all strongly encouraged to apply). They can be historical or futuristic, cultural or political, comedic or tragic, spoken or signed!
3. Include the word "CHANGE" somewhere in your monologue. If the word isn’t in the monologue it will not be considered.
4. Complete the submission form before the deadline of September 10th. (Limit of two submissions per writer.)

Late entries will not be considered, no matter how much you beg.

We are incredibly excited to read your submissions!
