Festival de la Bête Noire

web site

Deadline: October 15, 2021

SUBMISSION FORM

Festival de la Bête Noire is a horror theatre festival based in Montreal, February 23rd to 27th. FBN’s ongoing mission is to provide a platform through which emerging and established artists can express their love of the horror genre through performance art.

“It isn’t all just blood, gore and jump scares. Horror is so much more; from navigating trauma, overcoming demons, conquering fears, triumphing over defeats and making friends with our monsters. Through cathartic release, horror is healing.”

For this season, with all the uncertainty around the performing arts and the ambiguous nature of the resources available, we are building the festival around you. So, for our 4th edition of Festival de la Bête Noire, there will be no fee to apply, and your proposals will determine the curative needs of the festival as well as the format with which we will move forward.

Now let’s get started on these proposals. These can be storytelling, puppets, dance, plays, workshops, panels, interactive on or offline games. The floor is yours to spill your ideas onto. Please be detailed yet succinct. You may submit as many proposals as you like; either of different ideas, or the same idea made for stage and a backup for a potential lockdown/restrictions.

Once we have greater clarity concerning our format, and you are accepted into the festival, then there will be associated fees; entrance, tech, drop out…

****Please be advised****

It is a good idea to keep things as simple as possible, keeping in mind potential covid restrictions that may alter initial plans.

To perform inside a venue, all members of production and support crew must show proof of vaccine passport as dictated by the Provincial government, and follow all Covid directives as stated by the CENNST.

We very much look forward to hearing all of your spooky ideas which you can submit to us via this form. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at:
