Website

Deadline: October 1, 2021
Paterson NJ

SUBMISSION

Calling all playwrights to tell their stories that resonate with diverse communities. The Paterson Performing Arts Development Council is accepting entries as part of its annual Show Me The Monologue Playwriting Competition. The first place winning playwright whose work is chosen will receive a main stage theater production as part of the lineup in the Hamilton Arts Festival (HAF) 2022. As PPADC’s playwright in residence, the writer will receive developmental support that includes a $500 stipend, dramaturge, director, casting, stage manager, tech operators, and set design. Second-place winner will receive dramaturgy support and a stage reading of his/her/their work during HAF.

HAF events and activities will take place from June 16 - 25, 2022, enabling both arising and accomplished artists to present work that deepens their practice as well as entertains, enlightens, and engages Paterson’s diverse communities.

At the Paterson Performing Arts Development Council (PPADC), a 501C3 nonprofit organization, our mission is to bring together multicultural communities through performing arts and cultural events, to create pathways for aspiring and accomplished artists, and to promote the native land of the Leni Lenape people called the City of Paterson, NJ as a regional hub for the creative arts.
