Deadline December 31, 2020
Who We Are
Publishing twice a year, some scripts literary magazine seeks to uplift the voices of scriptwriters who have fewer opportunities than fiction, poetry, or nonfiction writers to see their work in print. We believe scripts–whether for the stage, screen, radio, or Zoom–have literary merit and deserve recognition for their writing beyond performance. We desire to be a platform to uplift the voices of new and emerging scriptwriters first and foremost before established scriptwriters.
What We're Looking For
We seek stage plays, screenplays, radio plays, monologues, Zoom plays, essays on theatre/film during the pandemic, and script reviews for possible publication in our upcoming issue. All people, within the US and outside of it, are encouraged to submit! You may submit as many pieces as you'd like, but try to keep it under three per writer. (As a note: at this time we cannot publish full-length stage plays or screenplays.)
There is no restriction on scripts that have been previously produced. If you have a script that has been previously published, we will consider re-publication, but we may ask for proof of previous publication and how best to credit them.
At this time, we regret we cannot compensate contributors. We are, however, working to change this by running a fundraiser to help compensate contributors for Issue 5.
Deadline: tentatively December 31, 2020 (depending on the amount of submissions we receive, we may extend the deadline)
How to Submit
Submit via email to submissions@some-script.com or somescriptslitmag@gmail.com in a Microsoft Word or PDF file. The script must be a blind copy and a separate document with the title page and your contact info must be included.
