Sprout Works is seeking full-length play submissions for our Fall 2019 Mainstage Production!
Sprout Works is a non-profit 501(c)(3) status company. Our Mission is to support the creation of new works, community growth, and provide professional opportunities to early career artists. We’ve been overjoyed with the success of our last season - a sold out play festival, mainstage production, and reading series. We can’t wait for what’s next!
We are particularly interested in works by female identifying and gender nonconforming individuals, playwrights of color, and queer artists.
GUIDELINES
Manuscripts may not exceed 150pgs and must be unpublished works with 8 or less roles (ideally fewer). Current versions of plays cannot have been previously staged.
We strongly value the privilege and process of development and want to give playwrights the opportunity to work with directors in the rehearsal room, therefore preference will be given to NYC based writers.
*Please note: At Sprout Works, our values center around uplifting emerging artists - including ourselves. We are Actors/Producers, and scripts with parts that we can play will be given preference. To learn more about us, visit sprout-works.com/meettheproducers
HOW TO SUBMIT
Email submissions@sprout-works.com with the title of your play in the subject line.
Please include your bio, resume (if applicable), a short play synopsis, and any of the play's reading or previous production history.
SELECTED PLAYS
We put care into reading all submissions. If your script is not selected for the fall mainstage, it will be archived and considered for future production.
We are also accepting submissions for our upcoming projects including our second annual Planter’s Reading Series, a spring One-Act, and the Lavender Festival: highlighting Queer+ stories made with and by entirely queer creative teams.
DEADLINE
Plays must be submitted no later than June 12th at 11:59pm.
To learn more about us and our past productions, visit sprout-works.com or connect with us on any of our social media platforms.
