The Neukom Institute for Computational Science at Dartmouth College – in collaboration with Northern Stage – is excited to announce the 2026 Neukom Institute Literary Arts Awards for Playwriting, for full-length plays and other full-length works for the theater addressing the question “What does it mean to be a human in a computerized world?”. The award comes with a $5,000 honorarium as well as a weeklong workshop and public reading produced by Northern Stage (https://northernstage.org/) in early 2027. Note that works that have received a full production are NOT eligible for the competition.

The submission form will be accepted until 5PM, July 31, 2026.
Submissions must include
- An anonymized (blinded) sample of 15 pages of the play.
- Playwright resume/bio
- A short summary of the full play.
We will contact the playwrights of pieces that are a fit for the award for a full draft of the play in early August.
