Thirty artists face off against theatre’s worst cliches in Amoeba Productions’ Best Worst Ten Minute Play Festival.
Amoeba Productions is a nonprofit performing arts organization based in NYC, launching its first 10 Minute Play Festival! We are seeking actors, playwrights, and directors to collaborate with other emerging artists and create original short plays from scratch.
This process begins with a mandatory in person “Activation Day” on February 19th 7pm - 10pm, where artists will be paired with their teams and begin the development of their new play. Playwrights will have two weeks to write their 10-minute plays.
Then each team will have three weeks of rehearsal time between February 19th and April 4th, with a minimum of five hours of rehearsal. Each team will receive a $100 budget to be used toward rehearsal space and/or props. The festival will culminate in a live performance on April 4th where artists will be called 4pm - 7pm at Caveat in NYC.
