Stay True, An LGBTQ+ Theatre Company based in New York City is seeking submissions for a holiday play to be produced as part of their 2021/2022 Season. The play should take place around one of the major winter holidays and center LGBTQIA+ characters. Special considation will be given to works that celebrate queer joy or feature characters with intersectional identities.
The play should be full length (around 90 minutes), no intermission is preferred and plays with music or small musicals will also be considered.
The play can be previously produced or an unproduced new work.
Preference will be given to plays that can be performed with a cast of five actors or less.
The production will be directed by Stay True’s Founding Artistic Director Andrew Victor Myers.
This production will be held in the late fall or winter of 2021. The performance will tentatively be recorded and distributed virtually, but rehearsals may be held in person, with COVID safety protocols in place. Auditions will be in August with the rehearsal process starting in September

Compensation will be a stipend to be discussed and negotiated. Playwrights must be okay with casting Non-Equity.
