Trapped inside during the time of Corona, the bards and bardessesses at Theatre Nerd Podcast have decided that nothing will stop them from creating theatre to keep the ghostlights on in the world. To this end, they’re looking for a few 10-minute plays with a special little twist.
If your play meets the following criteria, we’d love to hear from you.
1. It’s right about ten minutes long. A little leeway is fine, but please don’t send us a one act.
2. It can be produced with a cast of no more than 4 actors. Reasonable doubling is a-ok. Unreasonable doubling is not.
3. It can easily be translated to a podcast style. We’re social distancing.
4. We're completely open on genre and content. Send us your best stuff.
5. It is unpublished – we’ll happily accept plays with previous productions, but we’re looking for unpublished works.
6. We’re especially interested in plays and playwrights from a diverse background or plays that allow underrepresented voices a chance to be heard.
7. We're also huge fans of the following: True Crime, Escape, Revenge, Science Fiction, Reunion, and Noir. You don't have to submit plays in those categories, but bonus points if you do.
We’re happy to offer a one-time royalty payment of $30.00 to any of the plays that we produce. You’ll also be credited on any relevant material – of course – as well as get a copy of the finished work.
We’ll get back to folks as we work through submissions.
At this time, we will be accepting submissions through May 15, 2020.
We expect to release one 10-minute play per week.
