We’ve announced new Online Workshops at Primary Stages ESPA! Whether you want to work on your Artistic Statement, tackle your Social Media presence to establish your artistic brand, or banish writer’s block and Jumpstart a New Play, we have the workshop for you!
We’re dedicated to giving you a creative community while social distancing - we have classes and workshops to hone your craft online, and also have our Primary Plus: Virtual Community which offers free playwriting sessions, master classes, and more! Even though we are socially distant, we won’t let you be isolated.

The Artistic Statement is a deeply dreaded, but required, field of most playwright development opportunities. This 2-day workshop will help you conquer the overwhelming task of writing about yourself and your work.

Sometimes it’s inevitable: writers just get stuck. Part 1 of this workshop will inspire you to get cracking on your next play and generate material. If you want to challenge yourself to keep writing and take a deeper dive into the work, Part 2 will delve into character development.
