South Street Players (southstreetplayers.org) is seeking original, short (10 mins preferred,
15 mins maximum) Halloween plays for its Tri-State Theatre Festival: Halloween Edition.
The event will take place October 18-20, 2019 in Spring Lake, NJ.
This event is an offshoot of SSPs popular Tri-State Theater Festival and serves as an
artistic fundraiser. All proceeds go to SSP to support the theatre’s commitment to producing
high-quality, extremely engaging theatrical experiences for the 2019-20 season…

Submission Rules and Process:
- Seeking original comedic & dramatic Halloween-themed short plays from playwrights currently living in the Tri-State area only (NJ, NY and PA).
- Plays must be Halloween-themed, which includes, but is not limited to, plays about ghosts, vampires, werewolves, witches, zombies, trick-or-treating, pumpkins, headless horsemen… pretty much anything and everything Halloween… however, all plays must be family-friendly, PG-rated.
- Plays must be 15 pages or less. Submissions of longer than 15 pages will not be considered.
- Plays must be in standard playscript format.
- Playwrights may submit more than one play, but please be sure your name and email address is on the title page of each script.
- SSP is a family theatre – no excessive swearing, no nudity.
- No royalties or payment will be provided to playwrights should his or her play be chosen for the festival.
