The Center for Creative & Performing Arts at Guilford Technical Community College is thrilled to announce a call for unproduced full-length plays.
GTCC is piloting a new work initiative for the 2019/2020 academic school year, and the selected play would be the first produced as part of this new direction for the theatre program.
Each play submitted will be read by a committee and the committee will determine which play to produce based on the needs of the program.
GTCC is offering to produce the winning play in the fall of 2019. The selected play will be performed three times over one weekend (to be determined) in our 80-seat studio theatre. In addition to the production, the playwright who writes the winning play will receive a $500 prize.
There is no fee to submit. We are considering full-length plays with a run time between 1 and 2 1/2 hours. Submitted plays should not have had any previous productions (either amateur or professional), and we are looking for cast sizes of 2 to 10 performers.
