HUDSON THEATRE WORKS IS LOOKING FOR PLAY SUBMISSIONS FOR ITS ACCLAIMED

PLAYWORKS SERIES OF NEW PLAY READINGS

WHEN: MAY 2017
WHERE: THE HISTORIC WEEHAWKEN WATER TOWER, 4100 PARK AVENUE, WEEHAWKEN, NEW JERSEY

Hudson Theatre Works, a member of the New Jersey Theater Alliance, whose production of “A Steady Rain” was chosen as one of the best productions in New Jersey for 2016 by the Star Ledger and who was nominated for a New Jersey Stage Award as one of the "Best Places to See a World Premiere,” is currently accepting submissions for its acclaimed reading series PlayWorks.

Submitted plays should not have been previously produced and should be works in progress or new scripts. Preferably, the plays chosen for our PlayWorks series are being presented to an audience for the first time, offering the playwright the opportunity to receive valuable feedback at the end of the reading. We are interested in character-driven stories that comment on society. Several of the plays read in our PlayWorks series have subsequently been produced at HTW and elsewhere.

Submissions from New Jersey based playwrights will be given priority.
Please include the playwright's bio, a brief synopsis of the play (no longer than one page) and the full script in pdf format. Submissions will only be accepted electronically at hudsontheatreworks@gmail.com. In the subject line, please write: PlayWorks Submission.

Deadline for submissions is March 1, 2017.
