The Grex Group Theatre is pleased to announce our 2nd Annual Insomniacs 24 Hour Play Festival set for October 17th and 18th in at Theatre 54 in New York City!
How Does It Work?
Friday night, October 17th, at 6:30pm we will meet for our Insomniacs orientation meeting. Directors, playwrights, and actors will be introduced and assigned to a groups. The groups will have time to meet and briefly get to know one another before the writing begins!
The playwright will then seclude themselves somewhere in the city as they compose the most brilliant script ever written! As soon as the play is complete, the actors will be called in for an all-night rehearsal process with their director. The next morning (Saturday the 18th), tech rehearsals will begin at Theatre 54 and evening performances will be given in front of live audiences at 7:00pm and 8:30pm.
What Are the Insomniacs Festival Rules?
Participants must be available for a full 24 hours prior to the performance. NO EXCEPTIONS. If accepted, there is a non-refundable $15.00 participation/registration fee. This fee is payable online and must be paid to secure your spot in the festival. Participants will be able to see the performance for free if audience availability allows. Each team agrees to have a fully memorized and rehearsed play to present for our live audience!
*Registration fees help cover the costs of the Theatre and administrative costs of the festival.

WRITERS - a brief writing sample (no more than 10 pages). Please put "Insomniac Writer" in the subject line.
How Does Casting Work?
The Grex Group Team will contact you after receiving your application! The Grex Team will contact you if you are selected as an actor, director, or writer, and you will have 48 hours to accept the offer!
