Stay Awake! seeks 10 minute plays

Stay Awake! – a new Denver-based theater company - is now accepting submissions for its inaugural 10-minute play competition. Playwrights from around the world are invited to submit a 10-minute piece for our Prism Festival of new works.

Each submitted play will be read by at least two professional theater artists. Plays must be no longer than 10 minutes, unproduced and original. A panel of professional theatre artists from around the US will select the winning plays. Selected plays will receive a full staging in Denver by Stay Awake! at the Work/Space located in the Rhino Arts District on Lawrence Street, October 23-November 1, 2014.

Preference will be given to plays that embrace Stay Awake!’s mission: Stay Awake! engages with the cultural and educational experience of our region through innovatively staged historic and uniquely creative original theatrical works that pose philosophical questions, actively confront the status quo, empower unheard voices, and awaken change.
