ABOUT THE MONOLOGUE
The exit poll numbers from the November 5th election moved me deeply. Seeing that 92% of Black women stood steadfast in the fight for our democracy—once again—solidified what I already knew: when the stakes are highest, Black women are always there, leading the charge. While other marginalized groups were present at the polls, Black women showed up where it mattered most. "The 92%" was born out of that moment, reflecting pride, frustration, and the need to set boundaries. This piece is my way of honoring that legacy while asserting the right to rest and demanding collective accountability.

You knew who he was. You knew. You knew what that mutherfuckah was all about. Maya Angelou said, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” And that I did. I believed he was a rapist, a felon, a racist. I believed he was a man who speaks the same hate-filled rhetoric as Hitler. A traitor who tried to overthrow this country. I believed he was a womanizing pussy-grabbing pornstar chasing bigot. And you still chose him. I can’t make this shit up! This the stuff white dreams are made of. For real! So here’s the thing: Don’t talk to me. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not until 2028. And maybe then I might entertain your conversation. Don’t come asking for my vote. Don’t come asking for my voice in the streets. Don’t ask me to rally my sorority sisters. Don’t come asking for anything from me. Don’t ask me what time it is! Because I’ve given you everything I’ve got. Take me out the goddamn group chat.
