It’s often said that good things come in threes, so prepare yourselves for ‘Tales by the Fire Episode III: Revenge of the Myth’.
The Orpheus Theatre Company is excited to announce the writing prompt for the third installment of our new works series- this time we are exploring myths and legends.
Do you know of any local myths that would make for a fascinating short play? Have you any desire to pass down a legend once regaled to you by a strange elder? Perhaps you think it would be fun to write a story about a Minotaur’s night out at DECADES, or Sisyphus becoming very confused by HISTORIC ROCK FORD? Whether they be ancient or modern myths, we want to read about them in your short plays.
The requirements are few. The pieces need to be short (no more than 15 minutes in length), they should feature no more than 6 actors, and they have to be inspired by the theme ‘Revenge of the Myth’. The short plays can be heartfelt, hysterical, or horrifying- all tales are welcome at our fire-side.
Submissions can be sent to us at orpheusmoves@gmail.com and are open from 8/21-9/15 or until the cap of 50 submissions is received.
