Strides Collective seeks members

Website

Deadline: December 1, 2021 11:59 EST

THE STRIDES COLLECTIVE is a theatre company originally established in Philadelphia and operated with help from individuals across the Mid-Atlantic area. Founded by Artistic Director Jonathan Edmondson in early 2020, The Strides Collective produces works of theatre by queer artists, about queer stories, and for all audiences with the goal of normalizing the conversation about queer identity, creating a safe haven for emerging artists to tell their stories and giving them the ability to express themselves freely without fear of judgment. We produce original works both in person and online that innovate on the ideas of what it means to create theatre and to diversify the stories often not heard about queer experiences.

The Strides Collective is currently composed of 12 volunteer Collective Members who perform administrative and artistic duties for the company. We are looking for new individuals to join us as Collective Members for the upcoming 2022 Season, committing to approximately 2-4 hours of work per week. While meetings are conducted remotely, we highly encourage applicants who reside in the Greater Philadelphia Area to apply.

Transparency is one of our core values; as such, we want to state upfront that all Collective members are currently volunteers. We deeply value our members' time and passion; as a Collective, we all assist each other to create a safe and healthy working environment. We recognize that the requirements of this opportunity may not be a fit for everyone. Our hope is to provide at least a $100 stipend before the end of 2022, and as we continue to grow, we look to create more stable financial compensation. If you have any questions, please email us at TheStridesCollective@gmail.com.

The Strides Collective provides equal opportunities to all applicants without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sex, disability, religion, national origin, age, veteran status, or any other characteristic. Applicants from historically underrepresented groups in the theatre industry are strongly encouraged to apply.

Applications are due by Wednesday, December 1st at 11:59pm EST. Click on each of the position titles below to learn more about the role and responsibility. To apply, please fill out this Application form or use the button below. We look forward to reading about you and your desire to work with our Collective!
