Call for new short and full-length plays!
Jersey City Theater Center invites local, national, and international playwrights to submit one short or one full-length play that best represents the playwright's dramatic ideas and humanitarian messages. We live in times of intense changes. How do we increase the emotional, mental, and physical capacity to withstand the great forth or pressure of those changes? What is the source of your strength? Love? Togetherness? Universal intelligence?
We are looking forward to the opening of our space to the diverse Jersey City community, as well as to playwrights who resonate with our inclusive messages of love and respect among all.
Submission guidelines:
For short plays, no more than 25 minutes, For full length, no more than an hour.
We prefer spaces with a limited cast (no more than 8).
We particularly encourage neurodiverse, marginalized, BIPOC, and LGBTQ dramatists to submit. Deadline for submission:
December 1st, 2021.

Accepted scripts will be notified by February 1st, 2022. Details about the 2022 festival will be adjusted to fit the NJ Covid-19 requirements in May 2022. As of right now, we are planning in- person staged readings.
