Whether you're in the middle of a play, making revisions on a completed draft, or starting something brand new, sometimes it's unavoidable – you just get stuck. In this 2-day workshop, figure out ways to banish writer's block and regain your momentum.
Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18
1:00pm – 6:00pm both days
This workshop might be for you if:
- You're a playwright of any level that wants tools to combat writer’s block.
- You’re new to writing and want to figure out ways to put your ideas on the page.
In this workshop you will:
- Normalize writer’s block, talking about why it happens and how to escape the trap of overthinking.
- Immerse yourself in writing exercises on the first day to access new ideas and get yourself out of your own head.
- On day 2, take those ideas and write – creating new work or making forward motion on a piece you have with a new point of view.
By the end of this class you will:
- Have tools and exercises to generate ideas and combat writer’s block when it happens.
- Be ready to work on your First Draft with us in the Fall!
