Spring Writing Classes at Primary Stages ESPA!

Spring 2019 classes at Primary Stages ESPA are now open for enrollment! Here are just some of the classes in our lineup of opportunities in the writing department:

This class will guide you through the development of your first draft, providing concrete deadlines, constructive feedback, and a collaborative environment that will encourage you to get your ideas on the page.
Instructors:
Michael Walkup (Producing Artistic Director, Page 73)
Adam Kraar (Writer, New World Rhapsody at MTC, Wild Terrain at EST)
Crystal Skillman (Writer, Geek, Rain and Zoe Save the World)
Eddie Sanchez (Writer, Barefoot Boy with Shoes On at Primary Stages)
Abe Koogler (Writer, Obie-Winning Fulfillment Center at MTC, Kill Floor at LCT3)
Leah Nanako Winkler (Writer, God Said This at Primary Stages, Kentucky at EST)

Instructor: Stefanie Zadravec (Writer, The Electric Baby at Two River Theatre Company)
Over the course of ten weeks, you will work to complete your draft, ideally with some idea of what you’d like to explore or fix and knowing, of course, that everything may change.

This class is for those with complete drafts who are ready to hear the play in full and embark on strategic rewrites.

Instructor: Kate Moira Ryan (Writer (with Judy Gold), The Judy Show at DR2 Theatre)
A solid grasp of the mechanics of comedy writing for the stage is a powerful tool in the hand of any playwright.

Instructor: Stefanie Zadravec (Writer, The Electric Baby at Two River Theatre Company)
The Artistic Statement is a deeply dreaded, but required, field of most playwright development opportunities. This 2-day workshop will help you conquer the overwhelming task of writing about yourself and your work.

Instructor: Winter Miller (Writer, In Darfur at The Public)
Sometimes it’s inevitable: writers just get stuck. This 2-day workshop will inspire you to get cracking on your next play.

Classes begin in February. Click here for the full list of writing classes.
