Teatro Diablo is looking for plays on "border" issues

Teatro Diablo , a new student run theater company at Arizona State University, is looking for plays on "border" issues for an event in the spring of 2015 in Tempe, AZ. A "border" issue can include, but is not limited to· immigration/anti-immigration· undocumented persons/students (e.g., Dreamers)· border security/violence· human trafficking/drug trafficking Plays do not need to concentrate on the US-Mexico border but any "border" between nations and plays can be written in either English, Spanish, or bilingual English/Spanish.
Plays must be no longer than 12 pages and in proper play format as a .doc or .pdf. This is a blind submission process. No identifying information (name, address, email, phone number) should be included in your play script submission.

Your bio will not be read with your submission. It will be used for promotional purposes if your play is selected.

Please include the words Border Submission: [NAME OF YOUR PLAY] in the subject line and email your play submission and title page as an attachment to TeatroDiabloASU@gmail.com.

We are particularly interested in plays with small casts, simple staging and technical elements. Accepted playwrights will be notified via email. Anyone who submits to this call will receive a press release announcement of the accepted plays. There is no submission fee and no compensation if your play is selected. Deadline for submissions is Monday, December 15, 2014.
