LOOKING FOR ONE MINUTE PLAYS

Spare Change Theater is excited to announce its first In a New York Minute playwriting competition in 2011. The festival will be on April 29th and 30th. This play competition will be a showdown of original plays with a length of around sixty seconds. The evening will consist of up to 30 plays competing for various prizes. Like a sports competition... this event will include a qualifying round, quarter finals, semi finals, and the final face-off for the top prize. The winning plays to be decided by the roar of the crowd. We will award cash prizes and the chance for a free space to read your full length play.


There is NO SUBMISSION FEE. We want this to be an opportunity for you to get exposure and even earn a little money if your play is a winner.

Deadline for submissions is Sunday, March 27th .

By emailing your play, you certify that you give Spare Change Theater permission to produce all plays in their New York Minute Playwriting Competition. You understand that the play must be under one minute and that all cuts or other changes must be made and/or approved by the playwright. If your play or plays are chosen, we will notify you by Wednesday, August 17th.
